Shapes of Noir

Project in collaboration with Nahlah Alsree. Our consistent theme was bringing people together through change as it is what we feel SoN does. We pushed the concept of non-typographical communication like sign language and braille to create shapes that represent our heterogeneous society.

We were inspired by Miriam Sugranyes’ illustration for a mural which shows people helping each other climb - this gave us the idea for the shapes.

We shifted from circular to angular as it felt too abstract and lacked direction.
With the foundation of conscious design, a monochromatic colour scheme was used to be more accessible as it’s easier to see different depths of colour than bright colours.
