One representation is someone’s misrepresentation: all ideas are interpretations

 

The power to showcase a single a single representation - regardless of its accuracy - is the power to portray one narrative and to diminish the voices of the rest, forcing them to look elsewhere to find the representations they deserve.

 

Research and practice is the visual exploration of my dissertation and focussing on the idea of interpretation and misrepresentation. Looking at the representation of Muslim women in the medi, throughout a six-week period, I experimented with mediums like collaging and lino printing.
